Paul Labrie is a self taught artist who developed an eye for
capturing nature while studying oceanography at Humboldt State University in
the mid 1970's. Realizing the fast growing popularity of blown glass Paul
devoted his time to developing his design and sculpture talents. In 1981 he
began his new career full time as a glassblower working with the lampworking
technique. Paul initially began with small sculptures, but soon went on to more
sophisticated work, and now creates bold pieces without sacrificing detail or quality
of workmanship. It is this quality that has become his benchmark.
